It started by simply sharing sourdough loaves—with family, friends and neighbours just over the fence. Today Wildwood are baking and delivering sourdough and baked goods to fellow northerners in Preston, Thornbury and beyond.
Wildwood required a branding strategy, visual identity, packaging solutions and a website for their growing business.
For Wildwood, baking is magical—warm, familiar and wonderful—the stuff of Enid Blyton stories. I created a visual identity with a unique palette of bright greens and orange and a single typeface with a folk tale personality. I collaborated with Mari Adams to create a range of illustrations inspired by classic children’s stories. Photography was shot in the Wildwood garden to evoke wild woodland. The result is a bold, joyful and enchanted personality that reflects Wildwood’s story, considers its target audience and differentiates in a competitive market.
Packaging solutions consist of fully compostable and recyclable materials, reflecting Wildwood’s intention to minimise their environmental impact. Copywriting emphasises the business’s local focus in Melbourne’s north, coupled with the idea of that locality being a place of wild wonder.
